Key Responsibilities:
- Craft 3D animations from concept to final render, based on creative briefs and video references
- Develop character animations, dynamic simulations and eye-catching motion graphics
- Create and optimize 3D scenes including lighting, texturing, and post-processing

Key Requirements

MASTERY of industry-standard 3D animation software:
- Blender, Cinema 4D or SideFX Houdini
- Proficiency in multiple platforms is highly valued but nor required

- Procedural animation techniques (Houdini)
- Motion graphics and visual effects

Art Director
Job Offer: Art Director (Animation)
- Location: Remote (HQ in Poland, EU)
- Job Type: Freelance (Project-Based)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead animation concepting: translate briefs into strong creative directions, moodboards, and visual references
- Sketch/visualize ideas quickly (thumbnail frames, style frames, boards) and communicate them clearly to animators
- Build storyboards/animatics using modern tools (e.g., Autodesk ShotGrid / SyncSketch / Storyboard Pro / Pitch, or other…) and maintain review workflows
- Direct and mentor a team of 2D/3D animators and designers across production phases; give precise, actionable feedback
- Plan schedules, milestones, and review cycles; balance scope, quality, and deadlines with producers/PMs
- Define visual language, style guides, and shot priorities; ensure aesthetic and narrative consistency
- Collaborate with creative, script, and post teams; present concepts and incorporate feedback
- Perform quality control on key moments: pacing, composition, color, readability, and brand alignment
Key Requirements
- 5+ years in art direction for animation / motion design (commercial, explainers, brand films, or series)
- Strong sketching and visual communication skills (paper or digital: Procreate, Photoshop, etc.)
- Hands-on storyboard/animatic experience in tools like SyncSketch, Autodesk ShotGrid (or similar), Storyboard Pro, or Pitch
- Solid grasp of animation pipelines (2D & 3D): preproduction → production → compositing → delivery
- Working literacy in DCCs to brief effectively (e.g., Blender/Cinema 4D/Maya/After Effects)
- Expert eye for composition, color, cinematography, and visual storytelling
- Proven leadership: giving clear feedback, unblocking artists, and guiding teams to the finish line
- Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable running structured reviews
- Excellent communication in English (a must)
Bonus Skills
- Experience with collaborative production tools (ShotGrid, Ftrack, Asana)
- Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Adobe CC (AE/PS/AI/Premiere), DaVinci Resolve
- Real-time/previz exposure (Unreal Engine) or look-dev for stylized animation
- Experience directing remote, multi-timezone teams
